Erin G. Preston

Erin Preston, Esq. is the founder of Utah Education Law and a respected legal advisor to Utah’s charter school community.

Since 2014, she has represented charter schools across the state in a wide range of education law matters, including special education compliance, employment and labor law, educator ethics, school construction, and governance. Erin is also a committed advocate for K–12 education policy, actively serving on political boards, speaking at legal and education conferences, and working directly with Utah lawmakers and policy groups to advance charter school interests.

A graduate of BYU Law School and a practicing attorney since 1996, Erin brings a rare blend of legal expertise and educational leadership. Her experience includes roles in the U.S. Senate and the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as co-founding a Utah International Baccalaureate charter school. This hands-on leadership, combined with her legal background, uniquely equips Erin to offer strategic, practical counsel grounded in the day-to-day realities schools face.
